NFC Players on the Fast Track to Success - 5/14/2005

Omaha, NE- Nebraska Futbol Club announces its newest program, Fast Track 30 to give high school age players a competitive edge. FT 30 is modeled after the Nike Project-40.

Created in 1997, Nike Project-40 is a collaboration between the United States Soccer Federation and Major League Soccer.  It is aimed at providing America’s top young talent with the valuable training, develop their skills, and further the United States’ international success. Project-40 takes the best players in the national team program and places them on MLS teams. The current class includes phoneme Freddy Adu, goalkeeper Steve Cronin, and forward Clint Dempsey. The success of Project-40 was proven in World Cup 2002 where Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley started at the age of 20.

NFC’s Fast Track 30 will allow high school players the chance to train and play with collegiate players in NFC’s amateur program. The goal of FT 30 is the same as Project-40, to immerse players in an environment that maximizes their potential.  FT-30 training sessions will be Sunday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at various locations.  The top players will be invited to play in Summer tournaments with the Amateur teams.  Players that are interested in participating in FT-30 should contact the Amateur Program Director, Dennis Beckmann. FT 30 provides NFC players another opportunity to achieve their ultimate goal of college soccer and beyond.
