13 NFC Players Begin High School Careers - 3/23/2005

Omaha, NE- Nebraska Futbol Club sent an experienced group of freshman and sophomores off to their high school soccer seasons this weekend. NFC had thirteen underclassman to start in their first matches. Ariko Kaziboni and Skyler Wills, both sophomores at Millard West and members of Blitzkrieg, played in their opener against Millard North.  Millard West lost the game in overtime to the #2 Mustangs. Chelsey Permenter and Alysha Harrington, both freshman at Ralston and members of Renegade, played in Ralston’s opener against Beatrice. The Papillion-LaVista Creighton Prep match saw two NFC teammates facing each other in their first starts. Jake Grimes, a sophomore at Creighton Prep and member of Blizkrieg, had a goal in his first game. However, Byran Babb, a sophomore at Papio, came out on top. Babb had an assist that helped the Monarchs defeat Prep 3-2. PJ Mallette, a sophomore at Blair and member of Blizkrieg, started in their opening match against Benson. Mallette scored a goal against the Bunnies. Andrew Cooley, a freshman at Gross and member of Invictus, played in their 2-1 loss to Gretna. Sarah Clapp, a freshman at Mercy and member of Renegade, played in their season opener against Omaha Central. Clapp helped the Monarchs to their 4-2 win over the Eagles with an assist. Robert Hogg, a sophomore at Burke and member of Blizkrieg, started in their 10-0 win over Omaha Northwest. Michael Mazgaj, a freshman for the defending state champion Westside and member of Invictus, started in goal against Millard South. Zach Sipherd, also a freshman at Westside and member of Invictus, came in after Mazgaj was injured. Andrew Colan, a sophomore at Ralston and member of Blizkrieg, started in their 2-1 win over Platteview.
