Elite Boys Academy Announcement

12/10/2013, 10:30pm CST
By Staff

Dear Nebraska FC Parents and Players,

We are excited to announce a reorganization of Nebraska FC and the formation of Elite Boys Academy.  On July 1, 2014, NFC’s U13-18 teams led by Coach Harvey along with other NFC staff will combine with the Elite Boys Academy, directed by Marcus Kelcher.  Mr. Kelcher also owns and manages the Elite Girls Academy in Omaha, one of only three Nebraska organizations to have won a USYSA regional championship.  The combination will result in the most successful boys and girls clubs under the same leadership.  Nebraska FC will continue to offer U9-12 teams, while Elite Boys Academy will offer highly competitive U13-18 teams.

Nebraska FC was formed in 1997 to assist committed, select level boys to pursue their goal of playing collegiate soccer.  The club currently serves approximately 225 boys in the U10-18 age groups, and has placed over 200 boys on collegiate teams since its formation.  The club is strong financially, has an outstanding staff of coaches, and has competitive teams in all age groups.

NFC’s board of directors has been working for years on a succession plan for NFC’s leadership.  We’ve looked at many alternatives, and we feel good about combining  our U13-18 age teams with Elite Boys Academy because we believe Marcus Kelcher and his staff will provide outstanding leadership, add depth to our coaching staff, and improve fundraising and communications.  NFC players will benefit from more competitive league play, and an increased emphasis on college placement.

We look forward to discussing the benefits of this change with you.
