Nebraska FC

Background

Nebraska FC has a history of success in Nebraska soccer.  The club was formed in the early 1990s with only a few top teams.  NFC grew to over 25 teams with many state champions before several of the founding coaches  moved on to collegiate coaching careers.  NFC is now reloading with the addition of Viva En Fuego, Caliente, Lazio, Blitzkrieg and Invictus.

Our Vision

Nebraska FC will provide the best skill and tactical training, athletic performance enhancement training and national competition to committed, goal-oriented high school age boys who dream of playing men’s collegiate soccer.

Club Philosophy

Nebraska FC chooses to serve a unique segment of Omaha youth soccer players – committed high school boys who dream of playing men’s collegiate soccer.  We offer the best training, athletic performance development and national competition, so our players will be uniquely prepared for their goals.  For our programs to succeed, we must provide an outstanding support system for our coaches and teams and effectively communicate.  Our services will be recognized as a value.

Our Values

We value personal improvement and leadership by our individuals, teams and the entire club.  We will promote personal improvement through teamwork, integrity, communication, flexibility, accountability and respect.  We will promote leadership through our behavior, by accepting responsibility for acquiring necessary skills and knowledge, and by teaching the techniques, tactics and mental toughness to succeed.  We believe our leaders are responsible for treating everyone with respect, developing the potential in others, modeling desired behaviors and high ethical standards, and for carefully recruiting the best associates for our club.

Programs

NFC offers the following primary programs:

Ø      The best available training and competition for middle and high school aged boys who seek to play men’s collegiate soccer.

Ø      APE – NFC’s soccer-specific athletic performance enhancement program.

Ø      Opportunities to compete in national tournaments and against nationally recognized clubs in regular competitions.

Ø      Affordable camps run by collegiate coaches to improve access to those coaches.

Ø      Training and regular competition for current collegiate players.

Curriculum

All NFC teams will receive premier level skill training, soccer-specific strength and agility training, and opportunities to compete against nationally competitive club teams.  Each NFC team will benefit from a training curriculum prepared by the Director of Coaching.  Since the goals of NFC are to teach and compete at the highest levels of soccer, every team and player will be expected to commit to a regimen intended to develop discipline, mental toughness, goal setting and a professional work ethic.  Players should expect at least two practices per week, 52 weeks per year, with more training before competitions.  We want players that dream to be champions.

US Club Soccer Affiliate

Nebraska FC is the only club in Nebraska to affiliate with US Club Soccer.  USCS is another affiliate of the US Soccer Foundation that focuses on developing the top five percent of players through regular high-level competition.  USCS offers the Super Y League (an elite league of the nation’s best clubs like FC Delco, Vardar and Soccers), flexible rosters to allow participation of all of the top players in our region, regular round-robin mini-tournaments, and their own Regional and National Cup competitions.  This affiliation will be valuable to NFC players by providing many more opportunities for high-level competition.

Current Teams

For the 2003-2004 seasonal year, Nebraska FC will offer the following teams:

Ø      U19 Boys – returning players include several players from Viva Ozy, En Fuego and Caliente

Ø      U18 Boys – formerly U17 Viva En Fuego

Ø      U17 Boys – formerly U17 Viva Caliente

Ø      U16 Boys – a new team will be formed, and NFC-88 will return

Ø      U15 Boys – formerly Viva Blitzkrieg

Ø      U14 Boys – formerly Viva Invictus

Ø      Other teams are welcome and will be supported with Omaha ’s best trainers and administrative support

Coaching Staff

NFC uses a pool approach to coaching.  Four coaches (Jeff Quine, Kylie Stannard, Jeff Voigt and Bob Amdor) will be responsible for practice planning, match decisions, player evaluations and club or collegiate contacts.  All coaches will provide input to the teams.  Four assistant coaches (Don Holstein, Joe Wieland, Ryan Small and Brian Hill) will lead practices and assist the coaches at games.  A staff of four part time trainers will help the coaches at camps and practices.  A specialized goal keeping coach and strength trainer will train at all practices.  Bob Amdor will serve as Director of Coaching, and Kylie Stannard will act as Assistant Club Coach.

Costs

NFC registration fees are $190 - about the same as other local clubs, even though no other club offers our level of training, access to US Club Soccer events, our APE program, etc.  We prefer to allow each team the flexibility to set their own budgets and to select the activities appropriate for that group.  Since our focus is to help top players reach their dreams, we encourage each team to participate in as many programs as possible.  Most of our teams build budgets with about a $150 per month payment.  Your team’s cost structure will vary, depending on what your coach recommends.

Value Comparison

The best doesn’t have to cost more.  NFC’s registration fees are comparable to other local clubs.  Your team will build it’s own budget by selecting programs like: goal keeping training, weekly skill camps, regular professional trainers, remedial skill training, APE – athletic performance enhancement, field or indoor facility rentals, indoor soccer leagues, and tournaments.  You’ll see the value for your investment.
